Fleet Aircraft Following
With the new fleet aircraft following being put into action, every pilot will have their own aircraft belonging to them, with a few other aircraft to spare (incase someone nicks yours).
I shall compile a short list on who's aircraft belongs to whom.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Okay, I have decided if I only get 1 aircraft it will be G-BNWH.
Some questions:
- Can I fly other aircraft?
- Are there any restrictions on where aircraft have to be left when not using them?
- Can we choose a different aircraft later?
- Will we ever have more than 1?
- What is the purpose of "owning" an aircraft?
Thanks as always for your time.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Well. I've been thinking...
We could easily purchase around 20 aircraft consisting of our revised fleet, and the pilots could just decide which one to fly, and when, depending on where in the world it is.
Im a bit stumped on this one, if anyone else has any better ideas go ahead.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
I don't think there is an easy answer for how to manage things. If I had the magic wand, I would assign each pilot multiple aircraft over time as they progress, and by the time they had accumulated Legendary, they would have their own set. It would go like this:
0 - 20 hours: They get a prop aircraft up to 25 passenger size, for local flights ( < 100nm)
21 - 100 hours: They get a regional jet ~ 45 - 60 passenger size, like ERJ or CRJ for short regional flights (< 500 nm)
so at 30 hours they have 2 planes, a small prop and regional jet.
101 - 200 hours: Small medium range Jet ~ 120 passengers, Like Airbus 318/319 or 737-300 or 727-200 for Regional Flights (<1000nm)
Now they have 3
201 - 300: Medium aircraft for Short or medium hauls, like A320/321 or B738 or 752 (<2000nm)
301 - 500: Large Long Range aircraft for Medium Hauls ~ 260 passengers, like A332, A333 or B753 or (<4000nm)
501 - 999: Very Large Long Range aircraft for long range flights: 747-400, 777-300 or A340-600 (<6000nm)
1000+: They get an A380-800 to fly anything
Just a thought. That's a lot to keep track of and by the end each pilot when they're a Legendary would own 7 planes.
And just to keep it fair, I would be willing to start over at 0 hours.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
I think thats an excellent idea, Stan - it's well thought out and i like the incentives it brings to the newer members for them to contribute more flying hours.
The only problem, being, new pilots have nothing stopping them flying whatever they wish, all they have to do is spawn in the aircraft and enter the flight no. in a 747 and away they go.
I think this might be an idea to ask phil, with the new AFTS3 coming into place, it could have a system where the admins of the airline can allow certain pilots to fly different aircraft.
Thanks again for your input.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Yeah you're definitely spot on. This isn't possible to enforce without more enhancements to AFTS. Well, for now, I think the 1 ac / pilot is a fine idea.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Okay Stan, we shall adopt that idea when the new system comes out, if that suggestion comes into place.
Re: Fleet Aircraft Following

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Could I have the G-JMAA 753? It's already in Seattle Tacoma where I usually fly from on routes, and I also use the aircaft a lot.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Okay, we'l keep that aircraft, but be sure to check our new fleet list on the new site, we only run the 752 from now.
Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Ok thanks!
So I can still fly routes with the 753 or no?

James
Good to speak to you again after so long.
Right, just getting used to the new stuff. It looks like I need a ride! Can I have the 733 (G-CELX)? as it seems no-one else has it? Seems to be at Vancouver at the moment which is fine.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
Remember, any aircraft that have not been reserved above, anyone can fly them, anywhere.

Hiya I was wondering if I can have for my aircraft: Boeing B738 Tail Number:G-EZKA as this the the plane I always fly with lol.
I also apologise for not being around recently as well (I have had a few things going on) but should be active this week to start earning us some cash

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
I wouldn't be too sure what i'd go for :S I had a 737 when i was in Celtic Aer which got me around the uk and europe but most of the flights i did were long haul and so i had to borrow someone elses 747.

Re: Fleet Aircraft Following
I'd like to switch to G-BYTH Airbus 320. I think jujuppeke will take the G-DEFG airbus. Thanks for everything.
