Future purchases
I am not requesting any of these be purchased right now...
But!
Since I own nearly all decent payware A/C and like to be able to fly them, I have put together a list of those aircraft that we don't currently have, that if we acquired them, I would glady fly them
Again, I am not whining for more!
Okay here they are:
ERJ-135
EMB-170
EMB-190
CRJ-200
B737-400
B737-500
A330-300
A340-300
DHC-8-300
DHC-8-400
ATR72-500
L-1011
B707-200
747-200
And when PDMG finally gets around to updating them for FSX:
737-600
737-700
737-800
737-900
Beech 1900D
MD-11
So again, these are just FYI's to say if you are looking to buy more and wondering what to buy, these would get flown by me

Re: Future purchases
I believe that the Dash Twin Otter is already on the fleet list, and the 742, 734, and the PMDG 737NG models will be added as soon as they are released.
As for the remaining, i often like to fly some of the more 'vintage' models, so it is not impossible to purchase a couple more on that list (esp. the Tristar!) when funds allow.
Oh, and btw... Can i ask where you got your L-1011 Model from? I cant seen to find a decent model out there available for download.
Thanks again,
JM

Re: Future purchases
Well, the Twin Otter (DH6) is a 20 person puddle jumper but the DHC-8's are much larger regional propliners carrying 50+ and 80+ people over distances up to 800nm @ 350+ knots. So, maybe some confusion there.
I will take a look at my Tristar model and let you know. It's either an SGA model or some obscure developer.
Anyway, I'm plenty busy with what I have now and am especially happy with all of my new routes, which I have been busily flying. I figure I will let things sit for a few weeks before I ask for any new routes. At this point I am trying to suggest only those routes I really want to fly, and I don't want to be a pain

Okay the L-1011 I am using is the Aerosim. The SGA I was thinking of is a DC-10.

Remember if you want you can 'cheat' and alter the aircraft.cfg file to make your (for example) 737-400 or 747-500 into a 737-300 and therefore use the one we already have - G-CELX. That's what I've done with Wilco's 737. The -400 and -500 has some really nice liveries that I wanted to fly and since they're almost the same plane as the -300, I changed the .cfg file accordingly so we didn't have to buy two more planes!!
Obviously the more popular planes will be the most likely to be purchased first - from your list apart from the 734/735, the ATR72 and Dash8-400 are very popular in the UK as well as where you are so I can see these being added to our fleet very soon.
The big change that should be coming soon, as you're probably aware, is flight following where you can only fly a plane from where it is currently located. Until then there is no point in having more than one type of a plane, but afterwards we're going to need many many more 737's, A320's, etc so everyone has a good choice of where to fly.
Yeh, I'm really looking forward to PMDG's 737NGX. Don't know that they've given a release date yet? Someone did do a FSX version of their Beech 1900D that I have (can't remember where I got it - but search Avsim or simviation). It handles and sounds very well but the cockpit is a bit temporary.
Take care
Sean

new planes
Thanks for the info, Sean. I suspected altering the .cfg would work and I am going to do just that now at your suggestion. I might also buy that beech 1900 from PDMG if it works well in FSX.
Yeah I *really* miss my PDMG737NG! I even went and installed FS2004 just so I could fly them once in awhile
The Flight following thing willl be cool and make things a lot more realistic. When that happens we should have a decent cash reserve ready methinks and I will continue grinding away at those long hauls each night and while Im at work.
If you guys want, I can upload that .zip file for the Aerosim L-1011 and for the 727-200's I fly (The ext models are amazing for freeware).

Re: Future purchases
Well, i certinely would be grateful if you were to upload those files - may i reccommend snapdrive for uploading files... no invasive ads, and easy to download.
Thanks again,

LINKS to L-1011 and 727-200 (Freeware)
I've put the L-1011 on Snapdrive here:

The 727 is too large (390mb) to upload to Snapdrive

Re: Future purchases
Excellent model, that Tristar - thanks again for uploading mate.
One problem, though. On the aircraft CFG file for the Tristar, you will need to locate the [General] section.
Change the aircraft model from L101 --> L1011, as shown below.
To this
And as for the 727, it says that the file doesnt exist :S
