I know that getting your PPL (Private Pilots License) is in excess of 4-6k.

PPL min 45hours @ £160+vat an hour =£8460
£18.00 per landing
£9.00 per touch and go
ground school
equitment
exams x 7 plus resits lol
and of course an expensive time piece.

Re: Pilot Training
There is a Pilot training college here in Waterford . You do one half here and the other in the States. But they might be building this thing in Dublin airport were you can do your whole license and they might have simulators and stuff. But thats just a rumour. And for Waterford training College check out www.PTC.ie and they have prices there i think

Re: Pilot Training
Regards commercial licence.
To break it down a bit. You would do a PPL, CPL, ME, IR and MCC. In total it depends if you go integrated or modular. You also have to keep in mind accommodation, transfers, ATPL theory, CAA issue fees, general living expenses, medicals and a potentially a Type rating if the airline is not willing to pay for it.
Integrated course approximately £82,000 without a type rating and one or two other costs.
Modular may work out cheaper depending on where you do it.
